In this part of our conversation, I had the pleasure of interviewing Ms. Brenda Douglas, the owner and manager of Golden Years Adult Daycare. Ms. Brenda shares with us that Golden Years serves as a sanctuary for senior citizens with dementia and various forms of cognitive impairment.
Not only do they provide care for these individuals, but they also accept clients from the Therapeutic Learning Center, ensuring a diverse and inclusive community

At Golden Years, clients are offered meals, snacks, and a wide range of activities to engage their minds and bodies. Memory games, board games, arts and crafts, and devotionals are just a few of the exciting activities available to participants. Ms. Brenda emphasizes how important devotional time is for the clients, as they feel a sense of belonging and unity, like a family.
One aspect that sets Golden Years apart is their flexibility when it comes to payment options. They accept private pay, insurance, and serve as a trusted provider for AmeriGroup, UnitedHealthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Additionally, they are also VA choice approved. The cost of services varies depending on the frequency of attendance, but Ms. Brenda ensures that affordable options can be arranged for those who need it.
Curious about the operating hours, I ask Ms. Brenda about the daycare's schedule. She kindly informs us that Golden Years opens its doors at 7:30 am and closes at 5:30 pm, providing clients with two meals a day and snacks in between. She explains that some clients may opt out of breakfast but would prefer a snack later on. Ms.
Brenda assures us that there is always enough food for everyone and even extends an invitation to come and enjoy a meal if there are any leftovers. Before concluding our conversation, Ms. Brenda generously shares her contact information, including her business and cell phone numbers. She warmly encourages anyone with inquiries or those interested in touring the daycare to reach out.
As we wrap up, I remind our listeners about the word FAST: finding people who bring out the best in themselves, taking action by reaching out to Ms. Brenda, sharing her website or Facebook page, and teaching others about this exceptional daycare program.
